Santa Paws is coming to Town

Santa Paws will be at Better Together on Saturday, December 11th, from 10 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.This will be the only chance to see Santa Paws this year, so be sure you don't miss it! Photos are $5 per 4x6 copy. All are welcome - two legged and four!Better Together is located at 211 W 4th St., in Vinton.

80th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor Attack Ceremony at Vinton Palace December 7

An armor piece of the USS Arizona secured by the Vinton-Shellsburg School from the National Park Service and USNavy in 2006 On Tuesday 7 December 2021 at 7 p.m. at the Palace Theater in Vinton a presentation will be given commemorating the 80th anniversary of the attacks on O'ahu, including the attack on Pearl Harbor.  This program is presented free of charge, freewill donations are welcome. This event replaces the annual Memorial Ceremony formerly held at Vinton-Shellsburg Middle School.

Game on...For Teens in Center Point December 30

Game on for Teens at a Tabletop Gaming night. Gamemasters Kevin and Becky Jones will lead a teen board game night at the Andersen Center Point Library Thursday, December 30, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.Forget Monopoly and Clue. New tabletop games provided for teens to learn will include Ticket to Ride, Gelatinous, Dominion, and others.The free event is sponsored by Friends of the Center Point Library.

Shellsburg American Legion Breakfast Saturday, December 4

The Shellsburg American Legion Saturday morning breakfast will take place this Saturday from 8 - 10 am. We ask people to social distant at the tables (families of course can sit together) and wear masks if you choose.Never forget that at every minute of every day, there are members of our Armed Forces in harm's way, and we need to pray for their safety and return home soonWe appreciate the past support for all the community does for the American Legion.

1963 Classmates Monthly Breakfast

On the last Tuesday of each month, whoever can, shows up for coffee/breakfast at Vinton Family Restaurant. At our November 30th coffee, we remembered our classmate, Nancy Erickson Stainbrook, who passed away since our last coffee. Vinton Guild of Fine Arts to Donate Proceeds from Silent Auction

The Winter Sled is made from a vintage Flexible Flyer II sled. The arrow is part of its original decorations when new.  The guild added the winter design to make it a nice addition to any porch, fireplace hearth, or anywhere you care to use it.  We'll even throw in the wreath to give it that little extra something for the Christmas season.

Dan & Elana Johnson Family Benefit November 26

The Dan & Elana Johnson Family are in need of a bit of a hand. The couple has operated the Belle Plaine Ambulance service but are now in need of the community's response to this call. Dan has been diagnosed with liver cancer and unfortunately, no treatment option is available.  A benefit has been organized to help the family.A freewill donation chili supper will be helped on Friday, November 26 from 4-8:00 p.
